The Edo State Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Chief (Dr.) Bisi Idaomi, Esq., PhD, has participated in a high-level meeting in Abuja, marking a significant milestone in the ministry’s commitment to driving positive change and building a bridge toward a more inclusive future for Edo State.
The initiative aims to equip 1,500 women across the state with essential digital skills, empowering them to participate effectively in the modern economy and contribute meaningfully to community development. This groundbreaking programme is expected to enhance socio-economic growth, stimulate innovation and entrepreneurship, and improve the overall well-being of women and their families.
During the meeting, Chief Idaomi also highlighted two other major initiatives designed to tackle challenges faced by vulnerable groups in Edo State. Although details remain confidential pending a formal announcement, these programmes are anticipated to make a significant impact on humanitarian interventions and poverty alleviation efforts within the state.
The meeting, which had in attendance the National Programme Manager of the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP), Mr. Hamza Ibrahim Baba, focused on strategies for implementing the digital literacy and empowerment schemes effectively.
The discussions reflected a strong commitment to collaboration and a shared vision of improving the standard of living for marginalized communities. A follow-up high-level engagement is scheduled later in the year to finalize strategic plans and ensure successful execution.
