The Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal (PEPT) has fixed Wednesday to give its verdict in the petition filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Atiku Abubakar, against the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The spokesperson of the court of appeal, Sa’adatu Musa, disclosed this in a notice on Tuesday.
Abubakar had asked the tribunal to declare him winner of the presidential election that held on February 23.
In his petition, the PDP presidential candidate had claimed that he won Buhari by over one million votes.
Abubakar also argued that Buhari in not eligible to hold office because he does not have the requisite qualification.
But in their response, Buhari and his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), said Atiku was not not supposed to have contested the poll because he is from Cameroon and not a citizen of Nigeria.
