Mike Ozekhome, a counsel to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Atiku Abubakar, its presidential candidate, says they will appeal the verdict of the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal.
Ozekhome said this on Wednesday while speaking with journalists after the tribunal dismissed their petition.
The tribunal had said that the petitioners failed to prove their case. The petition was subsequently dismissed in “its entirety.”
The petitioners had claimed that they won the election by over a million votes.
They had prayed for an order declaring that President Muhammadu Buhari is not fit to hold office.
The lawyer described the verdict of the court as a “misevaluation of critical evidence in the judgement.”
“That we’re appealing to the Supreme Court is as certain as death,” he told journalists.
